I remember this......

Something that I rediscovered yesterday that I will always remember is to never be afraid or hesitant to share my ideas. For my egg project I chose not to to do what I really wanted out of fear of offending someone else when in actuallity I was my own worse critic. I was worried about what other people thought about my idea that I altered it when in reality my idea was actually accepted by the whole class. I will always remember to never be afraid to share my ideas, beliefs, or feelings because that is what makes me who I am.

Another thing that stood out to me was how creatively people percieved their eggs. It's very mind blowing how someone can take something as simple as a raw egg and make it into something inspirational and a piece of art.

Egg Assignment

For my "do something with an egg assignment" I chose to switch out the yolk (embryo) and replace it with a baby ultrasound picture. Both human and chicken embryos are delicate, fragile, and requires warmth. The eggshell covers and protects the embryo during the early developmental stages until it develops into a fetus, so I decided to place a baby fetus in place of a chicken embryo. In the picture you see the egg with a hole in it which reveals the baby fetus during it's developmental stage.

Course Expectations

Honestly I do not know what to expect from Seeing Sideways because I do not know what types of assignments or projects we will be doing. The idea of not have a clear concise day by day plan on the syllabus, is actually exciting because it is break away from the normal class structure. However, I believe that this course will offer a different view of understanding, imagining, and creating new ideas and objects from different perspectives.Overall I just hope to see ideas, objects, and even people in a way that I have never seen before.
